Bilal Erdoğan launches Turkey volunteering program

Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Board Chairman of the İlim Yayma Foundation, spoke at the launch of the ‘İyilik Var: Türkiye Gönüllülük Programı’ (There is Goodness: Turkey Volunteering Program). During the event, Erdoğan emphasized the necessity of strengthening volunteering efforts and spreading the concept of goodness to counter the increasing visibility of evil in the world.

Erdoğan stated that Turkey should serve as a global model by utilizing its historical and cultural heritage to promote values of kindness and compassion. He noted that as evil becomes more prominent through various media, there is a pressing need to ‘advertise’ goodness as well. The program aims to reach diverse segments of society, particularly youth, through digital platforms and institutionalized efforts by foundations and associations.

The event was attended by several high-profile figures, including Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, and Mustafa Varank, Chairman of the TBMM Commission on Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology.
