Bilall Sherifi criticizes VV over Special Court responsibility

Bilall Sherifi has issued a public response regarding recent developments in Kosovo, specifically following the sentencing of former KLA leaders and the ongoing debates surrounding the establishment of the Special Court.

In a social media post, Sherifi addressed the political responsibility of the ruling Vetëvendosje (VV) party. He noted that while he and the NISMA Socialdemokrate party previously opposed the creation of the Special Court due to concerns over sovereignty and judicial mechanisms, the current political landscape has shifted.

Sherifi questioned the accountability of those who voted for the court while in power, asking what actions they took during their six years in government to mitigate the potential damages they had previously warned against. He emphasized that changing political positions alters both the ability to act and the level of responsibility held by political actors.
