Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Rana Sanaullah appointed to Pakistan's Judicial Commission

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah have been appointed as members of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP). These appointments, made under Article 175A(2)(vii) of the Constitution, follow the reconstitution of the commission after the resignations of Farooq H. Naek and Sheikh Aftab Ahmed.

Under the new arrangement, the PPP will hold representation from the National Assembly, while the PML-N will hold representation from the Senate. Additionally, sources indicate that a legislative deadlock between the PML-N and PPP has been resolved, with the PPP agreeing to support the government on legislative matters. The two coalition partners have also agreed to form a parliamentary committee on electoral reforms, which will be chaired by the PPP and include representatives from all political parties in Parliament.
