Bilawal Bhutto Zardari calls for united anti-terrorism policy in Pakistan

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called for a united national policy to combat terrorism, specifically addressing the security crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.

Speaking in Karachi on the anniversary of the 2007 Karsaz bombing, which targeted former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Bhutto Zardari criticized KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for failing to confront militants. He defended the federal government’s decision to impose governor’s rule in the province, suggesting that the emergency could be lifted if the political opposition engages with the federal government on a coordinated anti-terrorism plan.

Bhutto Zardari also noted that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman could play a constructive role in resolving the security situation and ending the emergency in KP. He emphasized that the fight against extremism should not be used for political point-scoring and urged all parties to prioritize national security over political disputes.
