Bilbao and Loja host major public health conferences

The 19th European Public Health Conference is being held in Bilbao, Spain, drawing more than 3,000 experts from 146 countries. Organized by the Spanish Health Department and European scientific bodies, the three‑day meeting focuses on climate resilience, health equity, innovation and international collaboration, with around 150 workshops and a record number of scientific communications.

In Loja, Ecuador, the Ministry of Public Health and the Technical University of Loja are convening the II International Congress on Maternal‑Neonatal Health. Over 300 health professionals, academics and students are gathering to discuss equity, intercultural approaches and the integration of ancestral knowledge with modern medicine. The event features speeches by health officials and a ritual led by Saraguro community leaders, emphasizing collaborative care for women, children and newborns.
