Basque cultural events feature traditional sports and musical performances

Various cultural and community activities are taking place in the Basque region. In Zegama, traditional Basque sports including wood chopping and stone lifting were showcased, featuring notable performances by Joxe Mari Esnaola.

In Bilbao, the Aste Nagusia festivities include a fishing school organized by Bilbao Bizkaia Ur Partzuerkoa and the Bizkaia Fishing Federation for children aged 5 to 16. Additionally, seamstress Marivi Redoli has been commissioned to create the official garments for the town crier and the txupinera.

In the musical sphere, Esteban Urzelai, director of the Bilbao Opera Choir and founder of the Suhar male choir, discusses the success of his ensembles, which blend traditional and contemporary repertoires and have performed internationally in Taiwan and the Philippines.
