Bilbao festival hosts solidarity campaign for Cuba solar energy

During the Aste Nagusia (Semana Grande) festival in Bilbao, solidarity campaigns are being held to support Cuba through the initiative ‘Argia eta Indarra Kubarentzat. Contra el Bloqueo, Energía para Cuba’. The campaign, visible across the city and at 27 festival stalls (txosnas), aims to raise funds for solar energy installations for Cuban hospitals.

Supported by organizations such as Euskadi-Cuba, Euskal Herria-Kuba Ekimena, and the Hegoak internationalist platform, the initiative seeks to mitigate the impact of the economic blockade. A previous phase of the campaign raised nearly 245,000 euros, which funded solar installations for the William Soler Pediatric Hospital in Havana. The current phase focuses on acquiring solar panels for the hospital's Cardiocentro.
