Bilbao: Fourteen arrested following public disorder incidents

Fourteen people have been arrested by the Ertzaintza following incidents of public disorder in Bilbao. The disturbances began in the Abando neighborhood when a fight broke out among a group of approximately 25 people.

During the unrest, individuals reportedly threw bottles at responding police officers. To protect themselves from projectiles, officers had to regroup and utilize anti-riot equipment. Several police officers required medical attention for bruises and lacerations, and a police vehicle sustained damage during the incidents.

The detainees are all male, including five minors aged between 15 and 17. The remaining nine adults range in age from 18 to 34. In a separate incident in the same neighborhood around 6:00 AM, the Ertzaintza assisted the Bilbao Local Police, resulting in two additional arrests for public disorder.
