Bilbao prepares 46th Aste Nagusia with focus on sustainability

The Bilbao City Council is preparing for the 46th edition of Aste Nagusia, with a primary focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. The festival's programming is designed to align with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting values such as climate action, responsible consumption, and social equality.

Key initiatives include ‘Txikigunea’ at Casilda Iturrizar Park, a dedicated space for children aged 0 to 12. Running from August 23 to 30, this area will offer over 30 activities aimed at fostering autonomy, creativity, and respect for the environment.

Additionally, the festival will feature water, light, and color shows at Pergolako iturriak and Plaza Eliptikoak. These nightly projections, scheduled before fireworks displays, will incorporate themes inspired by the SDGs and include educational videos to encourage citizens to keep the environment clean and manage waste properly.
