Bilbao to host solidarity march and Silvio Rodríguez concert for Cuba

A solidarity demonstration for Cuba will take place in Bilbao, Spain, featuring a concert by singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez. The event is organized by several Basque groups, including Euskal Herria-Kuba Ekimena and the internationalist platform Hegoak, which represents various unions, parties, and NGOs.

The march aims to protest the economic and energy blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States and to highlight the humanitarian situation on the island. Additionally, the event supports the “Argia eta Indarra Kubarentzat” campaign, which raises funds to install solar energy systems in Cuban hospitals.

To date, the campaign has raised nearly 245,000 euros, with the first solar installation already underway at the William Soler Pediatric Hospital in Havana. The initiative has received backing from approximately 130 Basque intellectuals and artists.
