BILD Editor-in-Chief Marion Horn faces criticism over political stance and coverage

Marion Horn, the editor-in-chief of the German newspaper BILD, is facing scrutiny following recent public statements and editorial decisions. In an interview with the trade publication Kress Pro, Horn expressed a strong personal political stance, stating that a poster in her office reading ‘Fuck AfD’ represents her attitude. She addressed questions regarding the media's responsibility for the rise of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, suggesting that attempts to blame media outlets for political shifts in Germany are ‘relatively transparent.’

Additionally, Horn has drawn criticism from Harald Dzubilla, a former advertising director at BILD, regarding the newspaper's editorial priorities. Dzubilla published an open letter accusing the publication of age-related discrimination after BILD prioritized a story about Steffi Graf's brother over coverage of a German football world championship victory. He questioned why the achievement of older athletes was relegated to a small corner of the paper while other human-interest stories received headline prominence.
