Bildu provides firm political support to Pedro Sánchez

The political party Bildu has emerged as a primary supporter of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. This support is characterized by Bildu's consistent backing of the administration and its tendency to minimize criticism regarding various government issues.

Following the transfer of penitentiary competencies to the Basque Government, there has been a significant increase in the release or progression of ETA prisoners. Reported figures include 124 progressions to third-degree status, 28 applications of Article 100.2 of the Penitentiary Regulations, and 62 conditional releases.

Notable individuals benefiting from these measures include former ETA leaders and members involved in high-profile crimes, such as Jon Bienzobas, Juan Antonio Olarra Guridi, and Soledad Iparraguirre. The political objective of Bildu, as stated by Arnaldo Otegi, remains the release of ETA prisoners.
