Bilecik Special Provincial Administration faces legal hurdles in Konak Kafe eviction

The Bilecik Special Provincial Administration is engaged in a complex legal battle regarding the eviction of Konak Kafe, which is operated by TSO President Mehmet Ergün. The administration requested the eviction following the expiration of a 10-year lease agreement on June 25, 2025.

The legal process has involved multiple court rulings. While the Eskişehir Administrative Court initially granted a stay of execution, the Bursa Regional Administrative Court subsequently overturned that decision. Following further appeals, the Bursa Regional Administrative Court has sent the file back to the Eskişehir Administrative Court for re-examination after lifting a previous rejection of a stay of execution request.

Hasan Sevinç, Deputy Secretary General of the Bilecik Special Provincial Administration, informed the Provincial General Assembly that the administration is hesitant to proceed with forced eviction. This caution stems from the risk that a subsequent court order for a stay of execution could allow the operator to return to the property, causing potential loss of prestige and financial compensation risks for the administration.
