Bilfinger to modernize hydroelectric generators in Austria

Bilfinger SE has been awarded a contract by Ennskraftwerke AG to modernize two generator units at the Garsten-St. Ulrich hydroelectric power plant in Upper Austria. The project, which is scheduled for completion by March 2028, involves the manufacturing of new stators and rotor poles, as well as the overhaul, assembly, and commissioning of the units.

The Garsten-St. Ulrich plant produces an average of 157 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually, supplying approximately 40,000 households. The modernization aims to ensure the long-term reliability and efficiency of the facility. Bilfinger will manage the entire process, from pre-fabrication to final commissioning.

This contract provides Bilfinger with multi-year planning security in its energy infrastructure segment. Despite these new orders, the company's stock has recently faced downward pressure, trading near its yearly low.
