Bill and Tom Kaulitz to co‑host revived German show “Wetten, dass..?”

German pop‑rock singers Bill and Tom Kaulitz – known from the band Tokio Hotel – will serve as co‑hosts of the revived entertainment programme “Wetten, dass..?” slated for a year‑end launch on ZDF. In a Playboy interview the twins said they anticipate strong viewer backlash, stating, “Wir freuen uns total drauf und wissen gleichzeitig natürlich jetzt schon, dass sich viele über uns aufregen und das total scheiße finden werden.”

They acknowledge that they are not trained presenters and see the live broadcast as a challenge, especially the unpredictable nature of a live show. Tom added, “40 Prozent Marktanteil sollten wir schon holen,” indicating their ambition for a sizable audience share. The brothers are already working on a guest list and plan to bring the classic format back while being compared inevitably to former host Thomas Gottschalk. Preparations are underway with ZDF, and the twins expect the revival to generate both excitement and criticism.
