Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026 enshrine members amid controversy

The 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony in Canton, Ohio, featured the induction of Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, Adam Vinatieri, and Roger Craig. During his induction speech, former San Francisco 49ers running back Roger Craig revealed he has been diagnosed with vascular dementia, stating that his doctors believe it may be related to concussions experienced during his NFL career.

The ceremony also highlighted controversy regarding the omission of former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Despite his record six Super Bowl victories, Belichick failed to meet the 80% approval threshold required for induction in the coach/contributor category. This snub has prompted the Hall of Fame's board of directors to consider potential changes to the current voting protocols and selection processes.

Among the inductees, Roger Craig was recognized for his versatility and for being the first player to achieve 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. Drew Brees was also celebrated for his consistent excellence and leadership throughout his 20-year career.
