Bill Maher criticizes Mayor Zohran Mamdani over October 7 tribute
Comedian Bill Maher used an episode of ‘Real Time’ to criticize New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani regarding his statement marking the third anniversary of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel.
Mamdani described the anniversary as ‘profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers’ and expressed grief alongside those who suffered loss. However, the mayor also used the tribute to condemn Israel’s military actions in Gaza, characterizing the situation as an ‘ongoing genocide’ that has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians, including over 21,000 children.
Mamdani further criticized the United States government for its role in providing arms shipments, stating that many New Yorkers are mourning while knowing ‘our tax dollars fund these war crimes.’ Maher mocked the mayor’s remarks, suggesting Mamdani was ‘tone deaf’ for pivoting from a tribute to a condemnation of Israel.
