Bill Maher discusses crime rates and Trump’s meeting with Xi Jinping
During a monologue on HBO’s ‘Real Time,’ Bill Maher discussed the factors contributing to declining crime rates in the United States. He attributed the trend to both the expansion of the social safety net by Democrats, which reduces desperation, and the tough approach of President Donald Trump.
Maher also commented on President Trump’s recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington, D.C. He mocked the President for showcasing various renovation projects, such as a new helipad and ballroom, to Xi. Maher joked that while China can build entire cities in a week, Trump focused on showing off his driveway and architectural improvements. During the segment, Maher referred to Trump as an ‘arch-criminal’ in reference to his legal history, a remark that drew cheers from the studio audience.
