Bill Maher disputes religious comparisons on podcast

During an appearance on the podcast Club Random, comedian Bill Maher challenged remarks made by Iranian-American comedian Max Amini regarding the similarities between the Bible and the Quran.

When Amini suggested that the two holy books were essentially the same with only different details, Maher intervened to argue that the texts are fundamentally different. Maher noted that the Bible is an anthology written by various authors over different eras, contrasting the message of the Prince of Peace with the warrior nature of Muhammad. He further remarked that the historical expansion of Islam was achieved through conquest rather than request, citing the two swords on the Saudi Arabian flag as an influence on the book's context.
