Bill McKibben highlights economic anxiety and democratic concerns in US battleground states

Bill McKibben, founder of Third Act, has been traveling through several US battleground states, including Pennsylvania, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Iowa, and Texas, to discuss climate change and democracy. During his travels, McKibben noted that residents in these swing districts expressed near-universal frustration regarding the rising cost of living, specifically citing concerns over housing, groceries, and gas prices.

Mckibben observed that while the United States is among the wealthiest nations, many citizens are struggling to make ends meet. He expressed concern that elections have become disproportionately critical, serving as deciding factors for both planetary survival and the stability of democratic institutions against political extremism.
