Billa Slovakia expands store presence and updates layouts
Billa Slovakia is implementing a series of operational and structural updates across its network. The retailer is revamping store layouts to include streamlined shopping routes, continuous aisles, and optimized floor space. These changes aim to increase product offerings by up to 10% in select locations and improve accessibility through new shelving units for bakery and produce sections.
To assist staff, the company is relocating heavy items like bottled beverages closer to delivery entrances to reduce restocking distances. Additionally, some stores will feature modular counters to allow flexible service in meat departments. The redesign has already been rolled out in eight locations, with ten more undergoing renovation in cities including Bratislava, Košice, and Humenné.
In the village of Ladce, construction of a new Billa supermarket is nearing completion. The building has its exterior cladding, and work is currently focused on the interior and surrounding infrastructure. If the current schedule is maintained, the Ladce location is expected to open to customers by the end of November.
