Billa welcomes 186 new apprentices in Vienna

Billa has welcomed 186 new apprentices during a recent event in Vienna as part of its #nextbillageneration initiative. This group is part of approximately 600 young people starting vocational training with the food retailer this year.

The company offers ten different apprenticeship professions, including retail, confectionery, system gastronomy, food technology, and media design. Billa provides various support structures, such as apprentice supervisors, opportunities for international internships, and the possibility of completing an apprenticeship with a Matura.

Billa also emphasizes inclusive training, currently supporting 53 apprentices with disabilities. Looking ahead to 2027, the company plans to fill around 800 apprenticeship positions, with a specific focus on seeking more talent in the areas of delicatessen and confectionery.
