Billboard Latin Music Week highlights genre fusion and new artists

The Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami Beach is showcasing a significant shift in the Latin music industry, characterized by the fusion of traditional genres and the rise of new urban and regional sounds. Artists such as Fuerza Regida, Maluma, and Rubén Blades are featured as key figures in this evolving landscape.

Puerto Rican singer Anuel AA announced plans to release a corridos album as a “gift” to Mexico, alongside his upcoming urban album ‘Real hasta la muerte 2’. He expressed a strong interest in the genre and plans to collaborate with Jesús Ortiz of Fuerza Regida.

Discussions at the event have also focused on the new generation of regional Mexican music, which is moving toward fresher sounds and more personal, less aggressive lyrics. Meanwhile, artists like Quevedo and Kidd Voodoo are highlighting how diverse regional accents from places like the Canary Islands and Chile are contributing to the global urban movement.
