Billie Eilish sets Spotify record and announces film debut

Billie Eilish has achieved a new milestone on Spotify, with her song ‘Birds of a Feather’ surpassing 3.8 billion streams. This achievement makes it the most-streamed song ever by a female artist on the platform, surpassing previous records held by artists such as Lady Gaga, Tones and I, and Eilish’s own previous collaboration ‘Lovely’. The track is featured on her 2024 album, ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’.

In addition to her musical success, Eilish is set to make her feature film acting debut. She has been cast as the lead character, Esther Greenwood, in a new cinematic adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s semi-autobiographical novel, ‘The Bell Jar’. Reports indicate that Carey Mulligan is also expected to join the cast in the role of Esther’s mother.
