Billund to host 2028 European Darts Championship

Billund has been selected to host the European Darts Championship in September 2028. The event, scheduled to take place from September 26 to 30, was awarded by the European Darts Union.

The hosting responsibility is a collaborative effort between the Dansk Dart Union, Billund Municipality, and Sport Event Denmark. The championship holds historical significance as it returns to Denmark exactly 50 years after the country helped establish the tournament with the first Europe Cup in Copenhagen in 1978.

Local officials, including Mayor Stephanie Storbank, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to showcase the city to an international audience of players, officials, and fans from across Europe. While the specific venue within Billund is yet to be finalized, planning processes are beginning to take shape.
