Billy Bush alleges confrontation with author Amy Griffin at wedding

Journalist Billy Bush has claimed he was confronted by author and venture capitalist Amy Griffin during Jennifer Meyer’s wedding on Lanai on October 10. Speaking on his “Hot Mics” podcast, Bush alleged that Griffin attempted to embarrass him in front of wedding guests, including celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Courteney Cox.

The tension reportedly stems from Bush’s coverage of legal disputes surrounding Griffin’s 2025 memoir, “The Tell.” Griffin is currently facing allegations from a former classmate who claims the book appropriated stories of sexual abuse; Griffin has denied these claims and filed a defamation lawsuit.

Bush described the encounter as “unhinged,” claiming Griffin appeared agitated and eventually stumbled, spilling her purse. He also noted that actress Demi Moore appeared to attempt to intervene during the exchange. Bush characterized the incident as an attempt by Griffin to make the wedding about her personal grievances.
