Billy Corgan defends friendship with Marilyn Manson

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has defended his long-standing friendship with Marilyn Manson following various allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence against the musician. Speaking on the Popcast, Corgan addressed the controversy surrounding Manson, who has faced accusations from several women, including actress Evan Rachel Wood.

Corgan stated that while he maintains his own opinions and can be critical, he believes in standing by his friends. He noted that his relationship with Manson spans nearly 30 years and mentioned that he personally did not believe Manson was guilty of the charges brought against him, citing the fact that the District Attorney did not pursue the case after a five-year investigation.

Corgan expressed discomfort with what he described as a “mob mentality” and stated that he does not want the public to dictate his personal associations or social circles.
