Billy Crystal to debut Broadway show about loss of home in wildfire

Comedian Billy Crystal is bringing his personal experiences with loss to Broadway in a new one-person show titled ‘860’. The production is inspired by a massive, wind-driven brush fire in January 2025 that destroyed more than 5,000 homes in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, including the Crystals' family home.

Crystal describes the disaster as a harrowing experience, recounting the moments the fire approached. To create an immersive experience, the stage set for ‘860’ is an exact replica of his former home office. The show, which opens on October 21, explores the themes of loss and what can be learned from such devastating events.
