Billy Ray Cyrus honors slain Kentucky Trooper Hayden Phillips

Country music artist Billy Ray Cyrus performed a tribute at the funeral of Kentucky State Trooper Hayden Phillips, held at Western Kentucky University’s campus in Bowling Green. Cyrus, who described the experience as the “highest honor” of his life, met with Phillips’ wife, Jordan, and their son, Knox, before performing the song ‘Some Gave All.’

Trooper Phillips was fatally shot on September 28 during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 65 in Warren County. Following an extended manhunt, Louisville Metro Police arrested 51-year-old Emonnie Branch of Tennessee. A Warren County grand jury indicted Branch on October 1 for murder of a first responder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and tampering with physical evidence.
