Billy Strings concert security delays cause long lines in Charleston, WV
Fans attending Billy Strings' rescheduled concert at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center experienced extensive security delays. Doors opened at 6:30 p.m., but the show did not begin until 8:10 p.m. because the venue has only two entry points and many attendees arrived together, many after bars and tailgates.
Coliseum General Manager Patrick Leahy said additional checks on paraphernalia, water‑bottle inspections (the venue requires clear bottles, but promoters allowed any empty bottle), and confiscated contraband further slowed processing. Despite the inconvenience, the crowd remained peaceful, and the event proceeded without incident.
