Billy Strings wins Entertainer of the Year at IBMA Awards

Guitarist Billy Strings was named Entertainer of the Year for the fifth time in six years at the 37th annual International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards held in Chattanooga, Tennessee. During his acceptance speech at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Auditorium, Strings expressed gratitude to his family and the musical predecessors who inspired his career.

The ceremony highlighted a growing cohesion within the bluegrass genre, noting that the traditional divide between neo-traditional and progressive styles has largely diminished. Industry figures noted that the success of artists like Strings and the return of Alison Krauss to touring have provided a significant boost to the entire scene.

The awards also recognized significant achievements by female musicians, including Sierra Hull, who earned her eighth Mandolin Player of the Year title, and Kristin Scott Benson, who won her eighth Banjo Player title.
