Indonesia encourages youth to pursue overseas jobs and internships

Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor, is encouraging the nation's youth to utilize the demographic bonus by pursuing overseas employment and internship opportunities, particularly in Japan. During an event at the Vocational Training and Productivity Center (BPVP) in Muncar, Banyuwangi, Noor highlighted that the Ministry of Manpower is actively preparing professional workers with specialized skills for placement in partner countries.

In collaboration with IM Japan, the government is facilitating programs in strategic sectors such as automotive, manufacturing, agriculture, and transportation. Noor noted that workers in the light automotive sector, such as technicians, can earn a net monthly income of approximately Rp21 million.

However, the Deputy Minister issued a stern warning against illegal recruitment. He urged prospective migrant workers to avoid high-salary offers that lack official government cooperation and to ensure all placement processes follow legal channels. He emphasized that mastering foreign language skills and technical competencies is essential for successful adaptation to the Japanese work environment and lifestyle.
