Biman Bangladesh Airlines removes films from in-flight entertainment
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has removed the films ‘Lalsalu’ and ‘Chitra Nodir Pare’, directed by Tanveer Mokammel, from its in-flight entertainment selection after they were screened for over a decade.
While social media discussions suggested a potential ban on the films, Biman Bangladesh Airlines clarified that the removal is part of a routine content update. The airline’s Public Relations General Manager, Mohiuddin Ahmed, stated that the in-flight entertainment catalog is typically refreshed every three months to account for licensing agreements, limited aircraft server storage, and passenger satisfaction.
Kazi Riton, owner of Black and White—the company responsible for supplying content to the airline—noted that the decision follows the films' long-standing presence on the flights. He indicated that while the movies have been removed for now, there may be opportunities to screen them again in the future.
