Biman Bangladesh flight delayed in Muscat after passenger death
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, BG-136, was forced to make an emergency landing at Muscat International Airport in Oman after a 55-year-old passenger, Channowara Begum, fell ill during the flight from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Following the emergency landing, medical professionals declared the passenger deceased. The flight experienced significant delays as authorities had to wait for permission from the Royal Oman Police to remove the body from the aircraft in accordance with local laws and regulations.
After the necessary legal formalities and police clearance were obtained, the aircraft departed Muscat for Chittagong. The Bangladesh Embassy is assisting with the process of repatriating the deceased passenger to Bangladesh.
