Binali Yıldırım calls for coordination in Erzincan development

Binali Yıldırım, President of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, emphasized the necessity of inter-institutional coordination and strategic prioritization for projects in Erzincan. During a meeting held at the AFAD meeting hall, discussions focused on urban planning, the preservation of cultural heritage, and strengthening city identity.

Yıldırım noted that urban development should not be measured solely by physical investments but also by the relationship between the city and its people. He described the City Council as a platform reflecting the collective will of residents and stressed that projects must be carried out in close cooperation with the municipality. Highlighting the reality of unlimited needs versus limited resources, he urged for efficient resource management and the establishment of correct priorities.

Key areas of focus include infrastructure investments and making historical and cultural heritage more visible. Additionally, Yıldırım addressed the importance of urban resilience against earthquake risks, referencing the lasting impact of the 1939 and 1992 earthquakes on the city.
