Binance CEO CZ Says Bitcoin Beats AI as Inflation Hedge
Binance co‑founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) posted on X that “AI is great, but it does not protect you against inflation. Bitcoin does.” He used the comment to challenge Wall Street’s forecast of roughly $700 billion in AI spending, arguing that Bitcoin’s fixed supply offers protection against monetary expansion.
JPMorgan chief Jamie Dimon reaffirmed the bullish AI outlook, expecting AI investment to reach about $700 billion this year. BlackRock digital‑assets head Robert Mitchnick warned that rising U.S. government borrowing and potential currency debasement could revive demand for Bitcoin, which is trading near $65,000, well below its October 2025 peak of $126,000.
Analysts also raised concerns about an AI‑related bubble, citing predictions that an AI crash could be far more damaging than the dot‑com collapse. BlackRock analyst Rick Rieder said the firm plans to cut exposure to AI‑spending firms while increasing holdings in assets that could benefit from an inflation‑hedging narrative, including Bitcoin miners.
