Binance Charity launches direct USDT donations for Venezuela earthquake victims

Binance Charity, the philanthropic arm of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, announced on 14 July a new direct‑donation campaign for people affected by the 24 June double earthquake in Venezuela. Verified users worldwide can contribute a minimum of $5; each donation provides up to 20 USDT in emergency aid to a verified recipient in the hardest‑hit states of La Guaira, Distrito Capital, Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón and Yaracuy. All contributions are recorded on the blockchain, allowing donors to track the flow of funds.

The initiative follows Binance’s earlier emergency fund of $3 million in USDT vouchers distributed to verified Venezuelan users after the quakes, which registered magnitudes 7.5 and 7.2, caused 4,734 deaths, 16,740 injuries and displaced thousands. Binance also temporarily waived P2P fees in bolívares and Binance Pay fees for local merchants to facilitate relief.

International organisations and several governments have already provided assistance, and the new crypto‑based channel adds a transparent, traceable option for global contributors to help the disaster‑stricken communities.
