Binance excludes disrupted data from US stock perpetual funding

Binance has announced the exclusion of nearly three hours of premium index data from its October 21 US equity perpetual funding rate calculations. The decision follows intermittent network connectivity issues at Blue Ocean, a US-based alternative trading system that provides overnight price data for US equities.

The disruption occurred between 03:46 UTC and 06:30 UTC, affecting approximately two hours and 44 minutes of data. Because Binance relies on external feeds like Blue Ocean to maintain continuous price indices outside of regular market hours, the connectivity problem prevented the exchange from obtaining accurate premium index readings during that window.

The adjustment specifically targets the inputs used to determine funding payments between long and short traders in TradFi perpetual contracts. It does not affect the valuation of stock-token collateral or indicate an exchange-wide outage; trading on Binance remained operational throughout the incident.
