Binance hires two senior compliance executives from Crypto.com
Binance has hired two senior compliance executives from Crypto.com to strengthen its regulatory framework. The new hires, Antonio Alvarez and Duncan DeVille, join the company as it navigates intense global regulatory scrutiny and operates under a deferred prosecution agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Antonio Alvarez will serve as deputy to Binance’s Global Chief Compliance Officer, Noah Perlman. Duncan DeVille has been appointed as the global head of financial crime compliance. These appointments follow a period of staff turnover within Binance’s compliance teams and come as the exchange seeks to meet strict obligations regarding anti-money laundering and sanctions laws.
The strategic move aims to bolster Binance’s ability to manage regulatory relationships and secure licenses in priority markets. The company is currently working to demonstrate meaningful compliance improvements as part of its ongoing legal settlement in the United States.
