Binance increases collateral ratios for several crypto assets
Binance updated the collateral ratios for seven digital assets on October 23, 2026, affecting Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin products. The exchange increased the ratio for Shiba Inu (SHIB), Polygon Ecosystem Token (POL), and Stellar (XLM) from 50 percent to 60 percent.
Additionally, the collateral ratio for CoW Protocol (COW), Nexo (NEXO), Ravencoin (RVN), and The Sandbox (SAND) rose from 10 percent to 30 percent. This change allows users holding these assets in specific margin accounts to access higher credit lines against their holdings. For example, $1,000 of SHIB now provides $600 in collateral value, up from $500 previously.
The collateral ratio represents the portion of market value an exchange recognizes as security. Higher ratios increase borrowing capacity but do not change the underlying market depth or the asset's market price.
