Binance Pay expands crypto payments to 3,700 merchants in Bhutan

Binance has integrated its Binance Pay service with DK Bank’s domestic QR payment network in Bhutan. This expansion allows both local residents and international travelers to make cryptocurrency payments at more than 3,700 merchants across the country.

Users can complete transactions by scanning existing DK Bank QR codes through the Binance app. While customers enter the purchase amount in Bhutanese ngultrum (BTN), the transactions are settled in USDT via automatic foreign exchange conversion. This system allows merchants to accept digital assets without needing to replace their current payment infrastructure.

The initiative builds upon a May 2025 rollout that initially involved approximately 100 merchants. Binance has expressed intentions to expand this local QR network model to at least 10 countries by the third quarter of 2026.
