Binance reopens withdrawals for multiple assets following security incident

Binance has resumed cryptocurrency withdrawals for over one hundred asset and network combinations as part of a phased recovery following a security incident in late October. The reopening, which began at 04:00 UTC on November 3, covers nine networks including Ethereum, Solana, BNB Smart Chain, XRP Ledger, SUI, Arbitrum, Optimism, TRON, and Base.

Major assets such as Bitcoin, Ether, Ripple, Solana, Dogecoin, Chainlink, Cardano, Litecoin, and Shiba Inu are among those affected. The exchange stated that the rollout is being conducted progressively to allow for rigorous security and readiness checks. While withdrawals were rationed in tiers, deposit services remained open throughout the process.

To address concerns regarding solvency, Binance released a zero-knowledge proof for its October 31 reserve snapshot. This allows holders of ten major tokens to verify on their own machines that their balances are backed by at least a one-to-one ratio. Reports indicate the exchange has replenished approximately 95% of affected assets using its own funds.
