Binance Returns to Philippines via Sandbox as EU Services Restricted Under MiCA

Binance has re‑entered the Philippine market through a regulatory sandbox approved by the Philippine SEC. BlockShoals Technologies received permission to test crypto‑related services for a 90‑day rollout, allowing Philippine users limited access to Binance‑linked products under supervised conditions.

At the same time, Binance’s European operations face tighter limits after the exchange withdrew its MiCA licence application in Greece just before the EU deadline. New‑user registration, deposits and Earn products have been suspended in Italy, Spain, France, Poland, Belgium and Sweden, though existing users can still withdraw assets. The firm says it will seek authorisation in another EU member state, with France mentioned as a possible option. Competitors such as Coinbase and OKX are courting the displaced users.
