Binance US seeks $100 million in funding at $1 billion valuation
Binance US is reportedly seeking to raise up to $100 million in new funding at a valuation of approximately $1 billion. The capital is intended to help the exchange expand its operations, improve liquidity, and compete more effectively against major U.S. platforms such as Coinbase, Kraken, Robinhood, and Gemini.
The proposed $1 billion valuation represents a sharp decline from the company’s 2022 benchmark, when it reported a capital raise of over $200 million at a $4.5 billion pre-money valuation. This decrease follows several years of regulatory challenges, including legal action from the SEC, banking issues, and significant revenue declines.
While World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency venture backed by Donald Trump, was briefed on the funding round, it has reportedly decided not to participate. The exchange is also exploring new business opportunities, including prediction markets and broader customer access across the United States.
