Bindi Irwin advocates for support against mom-shaming

Bindi Irwin, conservationist and CEO of Australia Zoo, has spoken out against ‘mom-shaming,’ emphasizing the need for support rather than judgment in parenting. In an interview with Motherly, Irwin discussed her experience raising her daughter, Grace Warrior, noting that every mother’s journey is unique.

Irwin specifically highlighted the importance of supporting mothers regarding infant feeding. She described her own breastfeeding experience as a ‘learning curve’ that took time to master. She noted that societal expectations often create stress, such as the stigma surrounding formula feeding or the shaming of mothers who breastfeed in public. Irwin encouraged mothers to support one another, stating that comparisons have no place in the conversation.
