Bingöl hosts 9th Honey Competition and Festival

The 9th Bingöl Honey Competition and Honey Festival was held at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Congress Center to promote the brand value and quality of Bingöl honey. The event aimed to strengthen the product's presence in both national and international markets.

Local officials, including Governor Cahit Çelik and Mayor Erdal Arıkan, emphasized the economic importance of honey production. Governor Çelik noted that Bingöl honey has surpassed traditional local products in prominence due to the efforts of producers and the Beekeepers' Association. He also highlighted the role of Bingöl University in conducting scientific research to unlock the region's beekeeping potential.

Mayor Arıkan pointed out that Bingöl honey is the first honey to receive international registration, which enhances its value. Officials stressed that accelerating the branding process is essential for the city's promotion, economy, and employment opportunities.
