Igman Konjic suspends production due to water shortages

Igman d. d. Konjic, a major manufacturer in the defense industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has temporarily suspended production due to water supply issues. The company reported that technical difficulties led to a shortage of water and the depletion of available reservoirs, making it impossible to maintain the continuous water supply required for production processes.

Following a meeting between the company's management and the union, employees were instructed to use their available leave from September 8 to September 11. The company emphasized that a steady water supply is essential not only for manufacturing but also for maintaining hygiene, sanitation, and health and safety standards for workers.

Management is in ongoing communication with the local water utility and the City of Konjic to resolve the issue. If water supply is restored before September 11, production may resume earlier; otherwise, the situation will be re-evaluated after that date. This follows a similar disruption last year caused by a shortage of gunpowder.
