Binh Dan Hospital to support Ba Ria General Hospital with surgical expertise

Binh Dan Hospital has launched a comprehensive program to support Ba Ria General Hospital in enhancing its surgical capabilities. The initiative aims to bring specialized medical expertise to the southeastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, reducing the need for local residents to travel long distances for advanced treatment.

The collaboration focuses on five key medical fields: thoracic and vascular surgery, general surgery, urology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, and diagnostic imaging. To support these efforts, Binh Dan Hospital will provide medical equipment, including two ultrasound machines and one gastrointestinal endoscopy system, to improve diagnostic and treatment capacities for digestive and abdominal pathologies.

A notable component of the program involves human resource development. Binh Dan Hospital plans to deploy young doctors, primarily medical residents, to work at Ba Ria General Hospital on a long-term basis. These doctors are expected to commit to a five-year term, after which they will be given priority for suitable positions at Binh Dan Hospital if they choose to return.
