Binter secures $510 million to purchase nine Embraer aircraft
Binter has secured a $510 million (approximately €456 million) financing agreement to purchase nine Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The funding was provided by a consortium of major Spanish banks, including Santander, CaixaBank, and BBVA.
The new aircraft are scheduled to be delivered progressively starting in 2027. Once the order is complete, the airline's E195-E2 fleet will grow to 25 units. These next-generation jets feature a 132-seat configuration and are noted for their fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.
Binter President Rodolfo Núñez stated that the acquisition aims to improve air connectivity for the Canary Islands, both domestically and internationally, while supporting the region's economic and social development. The expansion is intended to strengthen the airline's network toward Africa and bolster high-demand inter-island routes.
