Bintulu Port appoints Anuar Ismail as new Group CEO
Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad announced that Anuar Ismail will assume the role of President and Group Chief Executive Officer on 17 August, succeeding Dato Ruslan Abdul Ghani, who will step down on 16 August after steering the group through a period of strategic growth. The board, chaired by Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, thanked Ruslan for his leadership and expressed confidence that Anuar will build on the company’s strong foundation and continue delivering value to shareholders.
Anuar Ismail holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in the United States and brings extensive experience from his 32‑year career at Petronas. His previous positions include senior roles in Petronas’ strategic communications, integrated hydrocarbon management, and senior leadership in Petronas Carigali and Petronas South Sudan. The appointment is part of Bintulu Port’s ongoing leadership transition aimed at maintaining operational excellence and strategic continuity.
